George Trapp
Men's Basketball, inducted in 1991

Trapp was Jerry Tarkanian's first prime-time recruit at Long Beach State. The 49ers were 47-10 during Trapp's tenure. In 1971, the Trapp-led 49ers lost to eventual champion UCLA, 57-55, in the NCAA West Regional championship game. Trapp finished his 49er career with more than 1,000 points and was a first-round draft pick of the Atlanta Hawks. He lives and works in Detroit.

Senior RHP Dave Smith celebrated Senior Day at Blair Field with a career-best 8.0 innings pitched, allowing just one run in LBSU's 2-1 win over Hawai'i. With the win, the Dirtbags clinched their first Big West title since 2008, winning it outright with three games remaining.
