She averaged 30 points a game as a senior and was voted the Wade Trophy, which is given annually to the outstanding woman player of the year. Pollard was a three-time All-American. She was also a member of the 1980 U.S. Olympic Team which boycotted the Moscow Games. After completing her eligibility, she played professionally in Europe.
