Long Beach, Calif. - The 2017 Big West Women's Water Polo All-Conference Team was announced Wednesday morning as Long Beach State had five players earn the prestigious accolade. The group was led by goalkeeper Eirini Patras, who was also named Big West Freshman of the Year.

Eirni Patras was named to the All-Big West First Team alongside senior Christina Kotsia. After a stellar final season that included 53 goals scored, Kotsia becomes the first player in Long Beach State women's water polo history to earn All-Big West honors in all four seasons at the Beach. Patras had quite the freshman campaign as she led the conference with 227 saves. The keeper becomes the first LBSU women's water polo player to claim Freshman of the Year.

Virginia Smith and Alexandra Massier landed on the All-Big West Second Team. This is Smith's second All-Big West honor as she was named to the First Team in 2016. She finished second on the team with 42 goals scored this season. Massier also earns her second All-Conference nod as she finished third on the team with 38 goals this year.

Tori Morrissey rounds out LBSU's 2017 All-Conference honors as she was given All-Big West Honorable Mention. The sophomore also collects her second All-Big West recognition after being named to the Second Team a season ago.
