THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The ninth-ranked women's water polo team continued rolling past its opponents Sunday defeating Occidental 13-3 and Chapman 12-2. The 49ers (12-2) wrapped up the Posada Royale 4-0, outscoring their opponents 57-11, for its second-consecutive undefeated weekend. Chelsea Parks led Long Beach State with eight goals while junior Kelly Ringel finished with 21 saves.
LBSU extended its winning-streak to nine games with the pair of wins Sunday. The only other time Long Beach State started the season 12-2 was during the 2003 season when The Beach finished 24-8 overall and 8-2 in MPSF conference play for the best overall finish in school history.

Kotsia found the back of the cage with 56 seconds remaining in the game to tab her third hat-trick of the year for the 13-3 victory.
Nanea Fujiyama scored her second goal of the afternoon for the Tigers' lone goal in the fourth.
Game 2: #9 Long Beach State 12 - Chapman 2
The women's water polo team took care of business in its final game of the tournament defeating Chapman 12-2 Sunday afternoon. Justine Morgan and Parks led the 49ers with three goals each while Ringel finished with eight saves.
Parks jump-started the offense for LBSU with a goal at 7:04 as the 49ers added three more to finish the quarter up 4-0. The defense played a huge role for The Beach as it held the Panthers (2-2) to just two shots and forced eight turnovers.
Rachel Cretcher pushed in a goal after Kotsia's shot went off the top cross-bar and followed up with another goal with 56 seconds remaining in the half as the 49ers took a 7-0 lead into the half.
