LBSU Finishes Up Cal Lutheran Invite With Two More Dominating Wins

THOUSAND Oaks, Calif. - The 12th-ranked Long Beach State women's water polo team continued its high scoring ways and added in stellar defensive efforts in 11-3 and 19-2 wins on Sunday. LBSU defeated Cal State East Bay 11-3 and beat La Verne 19-2 in its final two game of the Cal Lutheran Invitational.
Game 1 - W, 11-3 vs. CSUEB
Goals from Snyder and Morgan in the second quarter gave the Beach a 4-2 advantage at halftime but Long Beach State would open things up with seven goals in the second half. Morgan and Snyder combined for three more goals in the third to break it open while the defense kept the Pioneers off the scoreboard.
It was another steady diet of goals in the fourth as four different players scored for LBSU in the final eight minutes to seal the victory.

Game 2 - W, 19-2 vs. La Verne
The Beach were up 6-1 after the first quarter and 9-1 at halftime, dominating from start to finish on both ends of the pool. LBSU allowed just one goal in the first and another in the fourth to the Leopard on the way to its biggest win of the season.
LBSU put up five more goals in the third and equaled that in the fourth for the final total. Long Beach State heads to the Claremont Convergence next weekend for another four games.
