The Beach limited their former conference foes to four goals and used a big third quarter to come away with a 9-4 win over Pacific. Coriann Snyder scored three more times for a total of five on day one of the season and Kelly Ringel made eight saves in Long Beach State's first win of the season.

The Beach held the slight 2-1 advantage after the first quarter and the teams traded a pair of goals each in the second for a 4-3 LBSU lead at the half.

The third quarter was all Beach as they put up a 4-0 advantage in the quarter to boost the lead to 8-3. A low -scoring fourth was just what LBSU was looking for as it held on for the 9-4 win.

Justine Morgan added in another two goals for the 49ers as did Kayla Robert. Hillary Veselik and Emily Matheson also scored for the 49ers. All four Pacific goals came from different players and Meghan Nee made seven saves in the net for Pacific.
