This team passed the 2011 team for most players honored to the All-Big West team.
LBSU took fourth place in the Big West Tournament.
LBSU will now play for third place against UC Irvine tomorrow.
LBSU will play as the first seed in the tournament for the first time.
Long Beach State (2016): Served as the primary goalkeeper in her final season with the Beach … had career-highs in minutes played (686), goals allowed (152), and saves (161) … finished the season with a 7.09 Goals Against Average … averaged 7.51 saves a game … tallied six games with double-digit saves – 10 against No. 18 San Diego State (2/14) in the Triton Invitational, 13 against Azusa Pacific (2/20), 14 against Bucknell (3/17), 10 against No. 25 CSUN (4/3), 17 against No. 7 UCSB (4/23), and 10 against No. 8 Hawai’i (4/30) in the Big West Tournament … shined in her senior year with huge performances throughout the season … had 26 saves in the first three conference matches of the season, allowing just 13 goals to lead LBSU to its best conference start since joining the Big West in 2009 … garnered a career-high 17 saves on senior day in the Beach’s final regular season match against UCSB (4/23), which led LBSU to its first ever Big West Regular Season Championship … after allowing five goals in the first half, Butler gave up just one to allow her team the opportunity to catch up and get the win … in her final season, Butler nabbed her first career All-Big West honor, grabbing a spot on the First-Team All-Big West … finished her career at the Beach with 1,250 total minutes played and 286 total saves.
Long Beach State (2015): Played the most minutes of any of her teammates during her junior year at the Beach with 376 … grabbed 76 saves and allowed 76 goals … recorded a 6.27 Goals-Against Average … had a season-high 14 saves in a big overtime win over No. 13 Indiana during the Arizona State Tournament … had double-digit saves in two games over the season … the other double-digit match came against Big West competition, No. 6 Hawai’i where Butler had 11 saves … played in eight of the last nine matches for LBSU, averaging 9.13 saves in that stretch.
Long Beach State (2014): Recorded 10 saves … averaged 8.62 Goals Against LBSU.
Long Beach State (2013): Appeared in seven matches as a true freshman … recorded 39 saves in 4.25 games … reached double-digit saves once in a 19-3 route of Washington & Jefferson (2/24) … grabbed nine saves against Redlands (3/23).
High School: A four-year letter winner in both water polo and swimming … selected as an All-American as both a junior and a senior … also tabbed as a Tri-City Athlete both of those seasons.
Personal: Born in Stockton, Calif. … parents are Warne and Julie Butler … also recruited by UC Santa Barbara, Pacific and Michigan … majoring in Athletic Training.
