Coriann Snyder concluded her Long Beach State water polo career with Honorable Mention on the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-American team. The honor is the second of Snyder's career and marks the third consecutive year of the 49ers being represented on an All-American team.
Senior Coriann Snyder led a list of four Long Beach State women's water polo players to be selected to the All-Big West teams, the conference announced on Wednesday. Snyder earned a spot on the First Team while fellow senior Chelsea Parks landed on the Second Team. Senior Hillary Veselik and sophomore Christina Kotsia earned Honorable Mention.
The 2014 season came to a close on Sunday as the Long Beach State women's water polo team fell 6-4 to Hawai'i in the third place match of the Big West Tournament. The 49ers (19-12) scored three goals in the third quarter to tie the match at the half.
Long Beach State grabbed the early lead in search of an upset but fell 5-2 to No. 1 seed UC Irvine in the Big West semifinals on Saturday. Defense dominated for most of the match as the well-played match was close until the end and only two goals were scored in the first half.
