Women's Water Polo Back on Track After Historic Season

The 2013 Long Beach State women's water polo team put the program back on track and also set the standard for the future. The 49ers' season culminated with their best finish in program history at 25-7 overall and 4-3 in Big West play. The Beach also posted a 2-1 record at the Big West Tournament, good for third place.

Water Polo Honors Seniors at the Inaugural Black & Goal Benefit

The men's and women's water polo teams held its Inaugural Black & Goal Benefit this past Saturday at a private home in Bixby Knolls neighboring the home from the hit movie, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. The event, a first of its kind, celebrated the success of both programs and honored the seniors on this year's squad.

Parks, Matheson, Kotsia, Ringel, Snyder Earn All-Conference Honors

The Big West Conference released its all-conference awards Wednesday afternoon for the 2013 women's water polo season with five 49ers on the list. Junior Chelsea Parks led the pack of five 49ers with first-team honors while senior Melissa Matheson notched her second consecutive second-team honors. Christina Kotsia, Kelly Ringel, Coriann Snyder rounded things out earning honorable mention.
