LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Long Beach State (1-8) women's volleyball will head to Malibu to take on Pepperdine (5-4) in its first Tuesday night match of the season. The Beach and the Waves will get underway at 7 p.m. at Firestone Fieldhouse. The match can be seen live on TheW.TV and radio will be provided through KBeach.org.

LBSU enters the matchup on a bit of a slide, going winless over the weekend in three matches. The Beach lost at LMU last Thursday, dropped a neutral site contest against Pacific on Friday in San Diego, then couldn't hold on for a win on Saturday at San Diego State. Junior Megan Kruidhof has been the leading weapon for the Beach this season, reaching double-digit kills in eight straight matches.

Pepperdine's top target is sophomore Hannah Frohling, who leads the Waves with 3.70 kills/set to go along with 2.73 digs. Sophomore middle Jasmine Gross averages 2.76 kills/set on a .330 hitting percentage, and also leads the team with 1.21 blocks/set. The Waves have a win over a common opponent for Long Beach State, defeating Utah Valley in their season opener in four sets. Pepperdine is coming off consecutive defeats last weekend, coming against No. 8 Washington (3-0) and Missouri State (3-1).

Long Beach State holds an 18-15-1 advantage all-time in the series with Pepperdine and the Beach has won 14 straight meetings with the Waves. LBSU won last season's meeting at Walter Pyramid 25-17,23-25,17-25,25-21,15-10.
