Misty May-Treanor is trying to win her third Gold Medal this summer in London.

Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State is welcomed over 750 fans of Misty May-Treanor Friday to the official send-off celebration as she and her partner Kerri Walsh head to the London Olympics in an attempt to win a third consecutive Gold Medal in Beach Volleyball.

In addition to an appearance from Misty herself, she was joined by her partner Kerri Walsh, LBSU Athletics Director Vic Cegles, Long Beach State women's volleyball coach Brian Gimmillaro and Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster as the Long Beach community celebrates the opportunity for May-Treanor and Walsh to win an unprecedented third Gold Medal in Beach Volleyball while representing Team USA.

May-Treanor was a two-time NCAA Player of the Year with Long Beach State women's volleyball, leading the 49ers to the first-ever undefeated season in NCAA history as well as a national championship during the 1998 season.
