Nele Barber, Ashley Murray and YiZhi Xue all earned First Team All-Big West honors while Xue and Hailey Harward were named to the All-Freshman team.
LBSU won its seventh consecutive match with a comfortable 25-14, 25-21, 25-15 sweep of visiting CSUN on Saturday night.
Murray and Harward showed great consistency last week, putting up a pair of strong performances in wins over UC Riverside and Hawai’i.
LBSU put on one of its best performances of the season, earning a 25-15, 25-17, 25-21 win on the road at Davis.
The Beach put on its best performance of the year in a convincing 25-17, 27-25, 25-13 sweep of LMU.
Long Beach State (2016): All-Big West First Team ... Named Big West Player of the Week on Oct. 10 ... second on the team with 289 kills, 2.47 kills/set and 0.83 blocks/set ... recorded 10+ kills in 15 matches ... had 14 kills on .393 hitting against Cal on Sep. 2 ... played an inspired match vs. No. 25 LMU on Sep. 8, putting down 11 kills on just 19 swings (.526 hitting) to go with a season-high six blocks in the sweep ... recorded a season-high eight digs in consecutive matches vs. UCLA (Sep. 14) and San Jose State (Sep. 16) ... put down a career-high 17 kills in an Oct. 8 win over No. 12 Hawai'i, taking a career-high 39 swings and hitting .385 in the win ... in her next match Oct. 15 at CSUN, hit a season-best .643 (10 kills on 14 swings) to finish off a string of four straight matches with double-digit kills ... hit .600 (7 kills on 10 swings) and had a pair of aces in a win at Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 18) ... finished the season with a strong performance vs. Denver (Nov. 26), putting up 12 kills on .500 hitting with an ace, five digs, and three blocks (two solo).
(2015): All-Big West Honorable Mention ... Hit .319 in her sophomore season, averaging 2.67 kills per set and 0.71 blocks per set, ranking second on the team in all three categories ... Fourth on the team with 101 sets played in 2015 ... Recorded season-high 16 kills vs. St. Mary's (Aug. 30) ... Hit .737 against Harvard (Sep. 5) with 14 kills on 19 swings with no errors ...
