Fifteen team blocks helped the Long Beach State women's volleyball team to a four-set win at Cal Poly. The Beach (16-4, 6-0 Big West) remained undefeated in conference play and extended its win streak to a season-high six matches with the 26-28, 25-22, 25-15, 25-20 victory.
Setter Jenelle Hudson did a little bit of everything in leading the Long Beach State women's volleyball team to a 25-21, 25-16, 25-16 sweep at UC Santa Barbara on Friday. Hudson distributed 31 assists to the tune of a season-high .406 team hitting percentage.
Long Beach State returns to the road this weekend for the annual Central Coast trip to UCSB and Cal Poly. The Beach puts it perfect 4-0 Big West record on the line as it face UCSB on Friday and Cal Poly on Saturday.
Bre Mackie added another first to a season of firsts for the senior as she was recognized as the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week on Tuesday. Mackie led Long Beach State to a five-set win over then-No. 21 Hawaii on Saturday with a career night on both sides of the net.
