Beach Tennis Set for ITA Southwest Regionals in San Diego
LBSU will compete against some of the top players in the southwest this weekend
LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Long Beach State tennis team heads down to San Diego to kick off the 2017 ITA Southwest Regional Championships. The Beach will compete against some of the top Division I schools from all across southern California and Arizona.
The Beach will be represented by senior Lena Pacholski, sophomore Natalia Munoz and four freshmen in Carlota Casasampere, Lalita Devarakonda, Georgia Gulin and Sadaf Sadeghvaziri in the five-day tournament beginning on Thursday, October 19.
Doubles matches begin on Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Barnes Center in San Diego. Casasampere and Gulin, along with Devarakonda and Sadeghvazir will begin the day as the former pair will go up against San Diego State’s Jana Buth and Paola Diaz, while the latter duo will match up with Hawaii’s Nikola Dolakova and Taylor Lau.
The doubles draw features a round of 64, while the singles draw is a round of 128.
