The Long Beach State women’s tennis team will travel to UNLV for its first tournament of the fall season this weekend.
The tournament, running Friday through Sunday, will feature eight teams including UNLV, LBSU, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, North Texas, Southern Illinois, Middle Tennessee State and Southern Alabama.
The tournament will feature seven flights of singles and four flights of doubles. The schedule for the weekend is as follows:

SUNDAY-Play begins at 10 a.m. PT
Six newcomers will make their debut as part of the Beach tennis squad including Laura Eales (Somerford Keynes, England), Julie Gerard (Hem, France), Maeva Razakasoa (Cranves-Sales, Rhone-Alpes, France), Holly Reid (Birmingham, England), Gabriela Tilkeridisova (Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic) and Hayley Thompson (Irvine, Calif.).
The 49ers will once again be under the helm of Jenny Hilt-Costello, who is in her 17th season as the head coach.
Pre-season rankings released by the ITA on Sept. 6 feature LBSU doubles duo Ebba Unden and Karolina Rozenberg at the No. 59 spot. The pair also received an invite to the All-American Invitational that will be taking place at UCLA Sept. 28-Oct. 6. Following that, LBSU will host its own fall Invitational on Oct. 4-6 at the Rhodes Tennis Center before finishing up its fall schedule at the ITA West Regional in San Diego on Oct. 17-21.
