July 27, 2012
Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State Women's Tennis team was honored with the program's ninth ITA Team Academic Award following the 2011-12 season. It was the eighth in a row for LBSU, honoring any collegiate tennis team that carries a cumulative team GPA over 3.20.
The 49ers also had four individuals honored as ITA Scholar-Athletes, recognizing any student-athlete who has completed at least two semesters with a GPA of 3.50 over the current season. Big West Player of the Year Anais Dallara, First-Team All-Big West selection Laura Bernard, Karolina Rozenberg and Anna Jeczmionka were all feted by the ITA for their accomplishments.
Dallara finishes her career as a four-time honoree by the ITA, while Jeczmionka, a junior, was honored for the third time. For Bernard and Rozenberg, it was their first selection.
For the seventh time in program history, Long Beach State claimed both an ITA team academic award and the Big West Conference championship in the same season.
