Beach Tennis Camp Returns To The Rhodes Tennis Center
May 28, 2009
Long Beach, Calif. - 49er Tennis will again be hosting the Beach Tennis Camp this summer in the new Terry L. Rhodes Tennis Center on the campus of Long Beach State. After a two-year hiatus while the new courts were built, the half-day tennis camp will again offer eight sessions each lasting five days, running Monday through Friday. Each day will run from 9 a.m. to Noon, with the sessions beginning on June 22 and lasting until August 14. Cost for the camp is $145 dollars per week with discounts offered for signing up multiple children or for multiple weeks. A shortened four-day camp the week of Independence Day will be offered, also at a discount. The camp includes skill instruction combined with fun drills and games for boys and girls from ages 5-15. All skill levels are welcome. The 2009 Beach Tennis Camp is under the direction of six-time Big West Coach of the Year Jenny Hilt-Costello along with four-time Big West Player of the Year, Hannah Grady. "We have had over 2,000 kids come through our summer camp during our first ten years," said Hilt-Costello. "We are very excited to work with this year's campers at our new courts." Registration is due one week prior to each camp session. Late registrations are only accepted if camper/staff ratio permits. For the registration form and information, click here or call Coach Hilt-Costello at (562) 985-4336. The Beach Tennis Camp is a Long Beach State owned camp and all proceeds go directly to the 49er women's tennis program.
