Long Beach, Calif. - No.44 Long Beach State hosts the final match of a four-match homestand on Thursday, before taking on No. 37 Pepperdine in the 49ers' pair of matches this week.

The 49ers moved up to No. 44 in the ITA Rankings this week, leading a pack of five Big West teams ranked in this week's update, which also includes UC Irvine, Cal Poly, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Davis.

Long Beach State finishes their four-match set at the Rhodes Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon, hosting Louisville at 2 p.m. Then, the 49ers travel to No. 37 Pepperdine to face the Waves in Malibu, Calif. at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 18.

That match is another in a collection of matches that has postseason implications for Long Beach State.

Neither Louisville or Pepperdine has any ranked singles players, but each has a doubles team ranked coming into this week, as the Cardinals' Mandy Brown and Julia Fellerhoff are ranked No. 35, while Annamika Bhargava and Maria Zalameda rank No. 29 for the Waves.
