Long Beach State women's tennis head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello has continued to show why she is one of the best coaches in the country as she reached an important milestone in last Monday's match.

The match against Hawai'i was No. 400 for Hilt-Costello and the victory was her 272nd as a head coach, both of which top the LBSU tennis history books.

The win over the Rainbow Wahine was the seventh in a row for LBSU against conference opponents, dating back to last March. For Hilt-Costello, that victory marked No. 134 against Big West opponents, as her teams have dominated the conference with a 0.912 winning percentage since she began.

Hilt-Costello took over the program in 1997 and has taken Beach Tennis in to the national spotlight ever since. This season saw the 49ers ranked No. 42 to begin the year, marking the 14th consecutive season that LBSU has been nationally ranked.

The seven-time Big West Coach of the Year currently holds all major 49er women's tennis coaching records including career wins, single season wins, highest winning percentage and matches coached. Her current squad will look to add another victory next to her name when they host No. 46 San Diego State Saturday at noon at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
