Beach Tennis Continues Action at CSUN Fall Tournament
Sadaf Sadeghvaziri picks up a victory in singles action
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The Long Beach State women’s tennis team continued play at the CSUN Fall Tournament on Saturday and freshman Sadaf Sadeghvaziri earned the Beach’s lone win in singles action.
Sadeghvaziri posted a pair of showings for Long Beach State as she took the court in both doubles and singles action. She defeated CSUN’s Mari Taslagyan by set scores of 6-3, 5-7, and 6-1 to collect the only win of the day for the Beach.
In doubles action, she came back and joined teammate Carlota Casasampere as they fell to CSUN’s pair of Kiryang Kim/Mari Taslagyan.
Casasampere also appeared in the singles consolation bracket as she saw action against Cal State Fullerton’s Jadie Acidera. She narrowly dropped a pair of sets to Acidera by scores of 7-6 and 6-4. Rounding out singles action for LBSU was Lena Pacholsi who went up against Cal State Fullerton’s Genevieve Zeidan. Pacholski came up just shot as she fell by set scores of 6-3 and 6-2.
Pacholski teamed up Natalia Munoz in doubles play as the duo dropped a 6-4 contest to CSUN’s Monika Van de Vondel/Skyla Alcon.
Lastly, Georgia Gulin joined forces with CSUN’s Elisa Elhadj, who filled in for Lalita Devarakonda, to go up against Iowa State’s Erin Freeman/Annabella Bonadonna. Iowa State edged out the Big West duo by a score of 7-6.
Action continues on Sunday, Nov. 12 as doubles play kicks off at 9 a.m., while singles draws begin at 10 a.m.
