San Diego, Calif. - Sophomore Karolina Rozenberg and freshman Ebba Unden nearly finished off another top opponent in doubles at the ITA Southwest Regionals, but lost to No. 49 Valeria Pulido and Danielle Lao of USC 8-6 in the team's final match of the weekend.
Rozenberg and Unden, playing together for the first time, ended the weekend with a victory over the eighth seed in the tournament and finished with three wins, advancing to the semis, before losing to the USC tandem, the second seed in the Regionals.
The loss concludes the fall season for Long Beach State. The 49ers will return to action with the Beach Invitational, a three-day round-robin tournament which will be held in Long Beach at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
