LOS ANGELES - No. 59 Ebba Unden and Karolina Rozenberg will not advance on in the qualifying round of the 2013 Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships as the team fell in their match earlier today.
The doubles pair came up short against the Texas A&M team of Ines Deheza and Rutuja Bhosale, falling 8-3 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.
"It was a tough match against a good team," head coach Jenny Hilt-Costello said. "We had some opportunities at the start that we let get away from us and once Texas A&M had the lead, we weren't able to recover."
Unden and Rozenberg had advanced on to the qualifying round despite losing a nail-biting match on Sunday to Catherine Harrison and Morgan Thomas of UCLA. The loss prevented the pair from automatically qualifying, however they moved on as two teams dropped out.
The pair will join the rest of the LBSU team this weekend as they play host to the Fall Beach Tennis Invitational. Play will begin on Friday at the Rhodes Tennis Center.
