49ers Continue to Win on Day Two of UNLV Invitational

LAS VEAGS - After going 1-2 in doubles play on day one, the Long Beach State women's tennis team turned things around for day two of the UNLV Invitational as the 49ers went undefeated.
No. 59 Ebba Unden and Karolina Rozenberg bounced back from Friday's loss to win handily against Middle Tennessee State's Irina Costandtinide and Jesse Grace by a score of 8-4. Freshman duo Maeva Razakasoa and Julie Gerard put up an impressive 8-2 victory over Ros Polly Nguyen and Denise Van Der Ben of New Mexico State while classmates Laura Eales and Gabriela Tilkeridisova defeated Paula Sanchez and Monica Mitta of Southern Alabama 8-6.
In singles play, LBSU has three players still undefeated as Ebba Unden led the way with her 6-7, 7-5, 7-6 win over Kseniya Bardabush of the University of North Texas. Laura Eales joined her as she won over New Mexico State's Denise Van Der Ben 6-3, 6-3. Finally, Hayley Thompson also moved to 2-0 as she beat Mia Brandt of New Mexico State 6-0, 6-4.
Julie Gerard rebounded from a loss on Friday to put up a 6-0, 7-5 victory over Middle Tennessee State's Irina Costandtinide. Karolina Rozenberg came up short in a 6-4, 6-3 loss to Nayara Moraes of Middle Tennessee State and Gabriela Tilkeridisova fell 6-1, 6-1 to New Mexico State's Ros Polly Nguyen.
Beach Tennis will finish up their weekend tomorrow on the final day of the Invitational. Play will begin at 10 am.
