Beach Tennis Sweeps Doubleheader in Sacramento
LBSU won two matches on Saturday against Sacramento State (4-1) and UC Davis (4-2).
SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Long Beach State picked up two wins on Friday at Sacramento State, taking down the host Hornets, 4-1, before picking up a conference win over UC Davis, 4-2, in a rescheduled match. Due to rain in the forecast for this weekend, both matches were played indoors in the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center. LBSU's match with UC Davis was moved up from Saturday morning to a 9 p.m. start on Friday night, making for a long day for the 49ers.
"With rain in the forecast for most of the weekend, we had a tough decision to make, play two matches in one day or wait around all week end to see if we could get both matches played," said LBSU women's tennis coach Jenny Hilt-Costello of the day's events. "I'm really proud of this team because they accepted the difficult challenge of two matches in one day rather than potentially not getting the matches played. And not only did they accept the challenge, but they came away with two strong wins."

Junior Lena Pacholski picked up a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3, then freshman Natalia Munoz clinched the victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win at the No. 5 spot in the lineup.
