LBSU Sweeps Second Straight Opponent With 6-0 Win Over Sacramento State

Klaudia Malenovska earned the first point of LBSU's 6-0 win over Sacramento State Thursday as the 49ers extended their winning streak to seven matches

No. 43 Long Beach State won its seventh straight match with a 6-0 sweep of Sacramento State Thursday afternoon at the Spare Time Indoor Tennis Center.

The match was moved indoors due to rain and both teams only competed in singles play. Klaudia Malenovska earned the first point of the match for LBSU (15-3) with a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Jennifer Nguyen. Anna Jeczmionka then followed suit to put the 49ers up 2-0 win her 6-2, 6-2 win over Olivia Boija. Anne-Sophie Willems then won 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot over Andrea Gomez Carus. Karolina Rozenberg returned to action after sitting out last week's match against Cal State Northridge due to injury. Rozenberg beat Katharina Knoebl 6-2, 6-4 and Ebba Unden won 7-6 (3), 6-2 over Rebeca Delgado. Sarah Cantlay won the final point of the match as she beat Sophie Lohscheidt 6-3, 6-7 (4), 1-0 (10-7).

LBSU hasn't lost a match in over a month and will put its winning streak on the line Friday in a Big West match at UC Davis. The match is scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
