No. 46 Long Beach State was unable to make it three wins in a row over ranked opponents, falling 6-1 to No. 73 North Carolina State Sunday morning.

In their third match in as many days, the 49ers (8-2) were unable to gain the doubles point as Klaudia Malenovska and Sarah Cantlay fell 8-5 to Joelle Kissell and Tatiana Illova at the No. 1 spot and Anne-Sophie Willems and Hazuki Onaga lost 8-4 to Chloe Smith and Sophie Nelson.

In singles play, the Wolfpack (6-0) gained another point at the No. 1 spot when No. 40 Joelle Kissel won 6-0, 6-3 over Klaudia Malenovksa. Down 2-0, LBSU gained their first point of the day when Sarah Cantlay defeated Nicole Martinez 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot. However, that would be the only point the 49ers would score as NC State went on to win the four following matches.
