LBSU’s veteran pair of Julie Gerard and Maeva Razakasoa won the No. 2 flight doubles title at the final day of the UNLV Invitational.
The junior took on a Top 15 player in the country, falling 6-2, 6-3 against Mississippi State’s Jasmine Lee.
The junior earned the Big West's highest honor for the second time in her career after taking home POY honors as a freshman in 2014.
On the same day she was named Big West Player of the Year, junior Maeva Razakasoa has been selected as one of the 64 participants in the NCAA Division I Singles Championships.
Junior Maeva Razakasoa has won 10 straight singles matches, all during a 10-match winning streak for LBSU heading into this weekend's Big West Tournament.

Long Beach State (2015-16): The 2016 Big West Player of the Year, winning the award for the second time in her career to join Hannah Grady (four-time winner: 2006-09) as the only players to win more than once … All-Big West second team for doubles with partner Julie Gerard … won Big West Player of the Week three times (Mar. 2, Apr. 6, Apr. 20) to give her five in her career … ranked as high as No. 57 in the country Feb. 23), which is the third-highest in program history behind only Jing Chen (37th, 1998) and Hannah Grady (38th, 2006) … became fourth 49er to compete in the NCAA Singles Championships, joining Jing Chen (1998), Hannah Grady (2006, 08) and Anais Dallara (2012) … played Mississippi State’s Jasmine Lee in the first round at the University of Tulsa, coming up short in a 6-2, 6-3 loss … had a 27-10 singles record, going 18-4 in dual matches playing exclusively at the No. 1 spot … went 15-3 in doubles during dual play, partnering with Julie Gerard at No. 2 doubles … went a combined 15-0 against Big West competition … scored her marquee win of the year against No. 36 Desirae Krawczyk of Arizona State, 1-6, 7-6 (6), 6-3 … defeated UH’s Cindy Nguyen 6-0, 6-2 on Mar. 24 in a matchup of two Big West Players of the Year … earned the decisive comeback win over UCSB’s Lou Adler (Apr. 2) 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, giving LBSU a 4-3 win after she trailed 5-2 in the third set … went on an 11-match winning streak at singles from Mar. 17-Apr. 27 … opened the fall season ranked No. 100 in the nation ... went 1-1 at the ITA All-American Championships, defeating Maja Mladenovic from Portland to advance to the Round of 32 in the pre-qualifying draw ... won the Flight A championship at the Beach Tennis Fall Tournament, defeating No. 125 Lauren Chypyha of Wisconsin in the title match ... ended fall with a 9-6 singles record vs. top flight competition.
(2014-15): Earned All-Big West First Team for singles and Honorable Mention for doubles. Posted a stellar 29-11 singles record for the 2014-15 year ... During the dual season, acquired a 15-6 record at the No. 1 singles spot, while also posting a 7-1 record in Big West matches... Solidified 4 victories against nationally ranked opponents, with the biggest one over New Mexico's Emily Oliver (75)... Helped Long Beach State win its fifth consecutive Big West women's tennis tournament... Defeated UC Santa Barbara's Natalie Da Silveira in the championship match 6-1, 6-1... In doubles matches, competed primarily with Julie Gerard and posted a 13-5 record... In dual competition, the two acquired an 11-4 record at the No. 3 doubles spot. The duo accumulated a strong 6 game winning streak from January 30th to February 21st ... Went 11-5 in singles play and 6-2 in doubles play in the fall ... Won two matches at the ITA All-American Tournament, upsetting nationally-ranked Alyssa Smith from Duke in the opening round ... Reached the finals in the top flight of the Beach Tennis Tournament and the Round of 16 in the ITA Southwest Regional ... Won her first five doubles matches of the fall with Hayley Thompson.
(2013-14): Became the second player in Big West and LBSU history to win the Big West Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors ... Led the Beach to the Big West title with a 30-5 singles record and a 20-14 doubles record ... Went 19-3 during the dual season with a 7-1 record in in Big West matches ... Played the majority of the season at No. 2 singles and went 12-1 but switched to No. 1 singles and didn't miss a beat with a 7-2 record ... Helped the 49ers clinch the Big West tournament title with a 7-6 (7-3) win over UC Irvine's Sarah Gong and defeated Tulsa's Yelena Nemchen 6-1, 6-2 in a Beach upset of Tulsa in the NCAA Tournament ... Won 15 consecutive singles matches from Oct. 18-Mar. 8, including her first 10 matches of the dual season ... Also went 20-14 in doubles, playing mainly with Ebba Unden at No. 1 and Hayley Thompson at No. 2 during the spring ... Went 7-4 in the No. 1 spot and 5-6 in the No. 2 spot with Thompson.
High School: Had a French -15 rating ... Part of the French Championship team winner for 15 and 16 year olds ... An individual regional champion in the same age group ... Reached the singles semifinals of the 17 and 18 years old French Championship while winning the doubles in 2011.
