The Beach concluded action at this year’s Fall Tournament, with senior Hayley Thompson winning the championship at the top flights.

Razakasoa Selected For NCAA Singles Championship Field

On the same day she was named Big West Player of the Year, junior Maeva Razakasoa has been selected as one of the 64 participants in the NCAA Division I Singles Championships.

Long Beach State (2015-16): Named first team All-Big West in doubles with partner Laura Eales, and was an honorable mention All-Big West performer in singles ... along with Eales, reached a doubles ranking as high as No. 29 in the nation from the ITA ... the pair was also listed as an alternate team for the NCAA Doubles Championships ... had a 24-8 overall record in singles, including a 7-0 mark in Big West play ... finished with a 21-7 mark in doubles action, going 21-5 with Eales as her partner, playing exclusively at No. 1 doubles ... finished the 2016 season on a 12-match winning streak in singles action, with 10 of those wins coming in straight sets ... played at No. 4 singles for the first half of dual play, then moved to the No. 5 spot ... went 5-2 against opponents from ranked teams ... played the entire year at No. 1 doubles, going 2-1 in completed matches against nationally ranked pairs ... beat Arizona State's No. 54-ranked pair of Ebony Panoho/Alexandra Osborne, 6-3, on Feb. 21 and defeated Cal State Fullerton's No. 45-ranked duo of Alexis Valenzuela/Camille De Leon, 6-3, on Apr. 15 ... along with partner Laura Eales, won the Flight A doubles title at the Beach Tennis Fall Tournament, defeating Valenzuela/DeLeon from Cal State Fullerton, 8-5 ... reached the semifinals of the second flight at the UNLV Tournament.

(2014-15): Earned All-Big West Honorable Mention for singles and First Team for doubles... Posted a 21-12 singles record during the 2014-15 season... In dual play, produced a 13-8 record while maintaining the No. 3 singles spot... Her victory against UC Santa Barbara's April Scatliffe, 6-0, 7-5, helped Long Beach State win its fifth consecutive Big West women's tennis title... Collaborated with teammate Ebba Unden to solidify a 17-10 record for doubles matches... In dual competition, the duo earned a 15-8 record while playing both the No. 1 and 2 doubles spots... Their biggest victory came against #23 Dartmouth as they won the match 8-4... Won their first five doubles matches of the season... Went 7-2 during the fall season in singles and 6-2 in doubles ... Reached the finals of the No. 2 flight in the Beach Tennis Tournament ... Won her first five doubles matches of the fall with Maeva Razakasoa, winning the top flight at the UNLV Invitational.

(2013-14): Went 25-11 in singles matches with a 16-8 mark during the dual season ... Played mainly at No. 5 singles with a 15-5 mark in that slot in the lineup ... Also played mainly at No. 2 doubles, teaming up for most of the year with Maeva Razakasoa ... Went 12-9 in doubles throught the year with a 7-5 mark during the dual season ... Won her first six matches in the fall tournament season ... Went on a five-match win streak from April 10-27 to help the Beach clinch a Big West title and the tournament championship.

High School: Freshman of the Year at Crean Lutheran in 2009 and reached the CIF semifinals in doubles ... Was the MVP of the Academy League in 2010 and won the league tournament ... Went a perfect 14-0 in 2010 ... Also won the Lakewood Winter G16 USTA tournament ... Reached the finals of the Whittier G18 ... was ranked No. 239 by USTA.

Personal: Daughter of Marty and Carol ... Enjoys hiking, the beach and bowling ... Majoring in Communications.
