49ers will defend BWC title at Cal State Fullerton Friday before hosting UCR at home on Saturday
The 49er record-holder for wins will stay on with the LBSU coaching staff.
The career wins leader at Long Beach State, Anais Dallara, will remain with the program following her graduation and begins her first season as an assistant coach with the 49ers in 2012-13.
During her outstanding four-year career, Dallara became the program's career leader in combined wins with 185 as well as the career singles wins leader with 98, while ranking second in career doubles wins with 87.
She capped her career with a historic senior season, setting the school record for singles wins in a season with 30, while reaching a ranking of No. 101 and posting an 11-0 record against Big West opponents at No. 1 singles while earning Big West Player of the Year honors. She also became just the fourth player in school history to earn an invitation to the NCAA Singles Championship, while leading the 49ers to their second-ever NCAA tournament victory, defeating No. 33 Arkansas 4-0.
Over her career, Dallara was a four-time All-Big West selection, a four-time ITA National All-Academic honoree and became the first Long Beach State player to reach the ITA Regional semifinals in the same season as the NCAA Singles Championship. Dallara also has an elite -4/6 French Federation women's tennis ranking.
Dallara will continue her work with the team as well as her studies, pursuing a Master's degree at Long Beach State.
