Nele Barber Selected As Honorable Mention All-American

Long Beach, Calif. - Senior Nele Barber was one of 24 selected as Beach Volleyball All-Americans by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, earning Honorable Mention after her final season at Long Beach State.

As an individual, Barber finished the season with a 24-10 overall record and went 21-9 in the top flight, partnering with Rachel Nieto and Sasha Karelov over the course of the season. She closes her career with 52 wins in flight one, the most in school history.

Her 57 wins with Nieto are the second-most for any pair in Long Beach State history, and their 44 wins in the No. 1 flight together is the most in school history.

With the honor, Barber joins Caitlin Ledoux and Tara Roenicke as multi-year All-Americans, as all three were selected twice. Barber along with Ledoux are the only two players at the Beach to earn All-America in both indoor and beach volleyball.
