Long Beach, Calif. - Long Beach State finishes the regular season with three more completion dates as the 49ers head to the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge over the weekend before hosting Hawaii on Monday, April 16.
The USAV Invitational will feature all five Western teams in a pair of formats on Saturday and Sunday in Hermosa Beach, Calif. On Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m., dual matches in a round robin format will begin as Long Beach State (2-3) faces off against Pepperdine (7-0), Hawaii (2-2), Loyola Marymount (0-4) and USC (5-2).
Then on Sunday, the USAV will host a pairs championship beginning at nine to determine an individual champion that will be recognized as the top team out West. Additionally, the results over the weekend should help determine the teams heading to the AVCA Collegiate Sand Championship at the end of April.
Following those matches, the 49ers will face Hawai'i in a final dual match on Monday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. The Wahine will then face Loyola Marymount in a neutral-site match hosted by Long Beach State for an additional match while Hawai'i is on the mainland. Both of those matches will be held at the Sand Volleyball Courts on the Long Beach State campus.
