Assistant Coach Kristian Kuld Named To AVCA Thirty Under 30 List

The Beach Volleyball assistant coach is in his fourth year with the program.

Kristian Kuld is in his fourth season as the top assistant coach for beach volleyball. With his assistance, the program has made two trips to Gulf Shores, and has finished in the nation’s Top 10 in each of the last three years.

His efforts were recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association in 2018, as Kuld was chosen as one of “Thirty under 30” up-and-coming coaches to watch.

Kuld played collegiately at UCLA before founding the Actyve Volleyball Club in 2014, where he now serves as a Co-Director and Head Coach. Under his leadership, Actyve has made six top five finishes in USAV/AAU Nationals or qualifier tournaments.

Kuld played collegiately at UCLA. He walked on to the men's volleyball team as a freshman in 2008 but had earned a scholarship by his senior year in 2012. He came to UCLA from Toronto, Canada, where he had a very successful youth career. He led his club team to multiple provincial championships and a national championship. He also found success on the beach, making the Canada's U19 National Team.
