Sophie Bukovec Claims U21 World Championship


Incoming volleyball recruit Sophie Bukovec claimed a major championship this past weekend, winning the U21 World Championships held in Larnaka, Cypress. Representing Canada with her partner Tia Miric, the pair topped Lithuania's Dumbauskaite/Povilaityte to win the championship with a thrilling 21-19, 18-21, 15-10 victory.

Both of Long Beach State's remaining pairs reached championship bracket at the AVCA National Championships Sunday, but each bowed out in the Round of 16 to conclude the 2014 season.
