Long Beach State is sure to be heavily featured as CBS Sports Network presents its coverage of the 2013 Sand Volleyball National Championships, where the 49ers captured the team title on May 4. The team portion is the first to air on Tuesday, May 21 at 4 p.m.

Ledoux and Roenicke Reach National Finals for Second Straight Season

All-Americans Caitlin Ledoux and Tara Roenicke had another memorable run in the AVCA Pairs Championship, reaching the title match for the second straight season, but were unable to push over the top, falling to Kirby Burnham and Stevi Robinson of USC 21-19, 21-19 in the finals in a very close match.
CHAMPIONS! Long Beach State Hands Pepperdine First Loss In Sand Volleyball History To Capture 2013 National Championship

Down 2-1 in the championship match against No. 1 Pepperdine, No. 2 Long Beach State got a win from Janisa Johnson and Tyler Jackson, who finished the season undefeated, tying the national championship 2-2. Lauren Minkel and Jocelyn Neely then finished off the day with a 21-19, 9-21, 15-10 win in the final match of the day, clinching a win for the 49ers.
