Northridge, Calif. - Senior Ashlynn Booker was 3-for-3 with a single, a two-run homer and a grand slam, driving in a Long Beach State record seven RBI in a 10-0, five inning win over Cal State Northridge. Booker tied a career high with two home runs in one game.
Long Beach State (36-13, 13-2 Big West) took command early in the finale. Shayna Kimbrough and Darian Tautalafua sandwiched walks around a single from Cya Neal, and then Booker hit her first home run of the day, a grand slam that put the 49ers on top 4-0 after one inning.
The offensive outburst continued in the next inning. Karli Sandoval then added RBI No. 100 and 101 in her career with a single, and then Booker hit her second home run in her second at-bat, a two-run shot to make the score 9-0.
Booker's RBI single, scoring Neal in the top of the fourth inning advanced the score to 10-0, and also gave the senior her seventh RBI, passing seven other 49ers for the LBSU school record.
