San Diego, Calif. - Erin Jones-Wesley struck out seven batters while holding Texas Tech to one run as Long Beach State defeated the Red Raiders 4-1 in the final game of the weekend for the 49ers.
Shayna Kimbrough singled to open up the game, and after stealing second, scored on a Samantha Camello error to give The Beach a 1-0 lead. Leilani Tupua-Tautalatasi started off another inning with a leadoff hit in the seventh, and scored
after advancing to third on Texas Tech's fifth error of the game, adding an insurance run, and Cya Neal scored on a sacrifice fly by Karli Sandoval to plate the fourth run of the game for Long Beach State.
Long Beach State returns to San Diego next weekend for four more tournament games, playing both San Diego and San Jose State twice.
