Virginia Tech vs. Long Beach State

Softball dropped its opening game of the Long Beach Invitational to Virginia Tech 6-1 Thursday night at Mayfair Park.

2012: Selected to All-Big West Second Team... Finished with a .383 slugging percentage and hit one homerun, two triples, and seven doubles... Led the team in stolen bases with eight...Had one of her best games against Eastern Kentucky (Mar. 8) where she went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and two runs scored... Only committed two errors throughout the season

High School: Played four seasons at Oxnard High School in Oxnard, Calif., where she was named first-team All-Pacific View League twice and second-team all-league once ... Also claimed first-team all-state honors as a junior ... As a senior, hit .506 with three home runs and 25 RBI ... Had a .518 on-base percentage, while finishing with a .728 slugging percentage ... Scored 24 runs and had seven doubles and a triple ... Finished junior season with a .444 batting average with one home run and 21 stolen bases ...
