Softball dropped its opening game of the Long Beach Invitational to Virginia Tech 6-1 Thursday night at Mayfair Park.

Career: Enters her senior season as the career leader in both home runs and RBI in Long Beach State history … Has hit 37 home runs and has 119 RBI … Also ranks in Long Beach State’s Top 10 in runs scored (100, 7th) and walks (81, 6th) … Is tied for third place in Big West history in career home runs entering the year and needs 12 RBI to enter the conference’s Top 10.
