Virginia Tech vs. Long Beach State

Softball dropped its opening game of the Long Beach Invitational to Virginia Tech 6-1 Thursday night at Mayfair Park.

2012: Awarded Big West Academic All-Conference honors... Finished the season with a .382 slugging percentage... Hit four homeruns, nine doubles and had 29 RBIs... Went 2-for-3 against Cal State Fullerton (May 5) with two doubles and three RBIs... Committed only two errors in the season... Needs nine home runs to set a new Long Beach State career home run record ... Can crack the career top 10 at LBSU with one stolen base and six walks.

2011: Named second-team All-Big West after hitting .307 with a team-best eight home runs and a team-high 30 RBI ... Led the team in stolen bases stealing 12-of-12 attempts, while also doubling eight times ... Finished fifth in the Big West Conference in home runs, while also ranking sixth in stolen bases, seventh in total bases (82), eighth in walks (22) and RBI, and 10th in slugging percentage (.503) ... Named Big West Conference Player of the Week after leading LBSU to tournament championship at the Campbell/Cartier Tournament in San Diego where she hit .643 (9-for-14) with a home run and four RBI ...
