Softball dropped its opening game of the Long Beach Invitational to Virginia Tech 6-1 Thursday night at Mayfair Park.

Named Big West Player of the Week for her performance in the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic in which she had three multi-hit games out of the five starting off going 3-for-3 against Indiana (Feb. 17) with a homerun and two RBIs, and continuing against Texas Tech (Feb. 17) going 2-for-3 with two doubles... Finished with a strong .329 batting average and .480 slugging with 29 RBIs, 11 doubles, and five homeruns... Had 74 put-outs and 79 assists while at third base

2011: Named first-team All-Big West after hitting .320 with two home runs and 17 RBI ... Ranked as the 48th toughest hitter in the country to strikeout ... Finished third on the team in hitting, while ranking second in on-base percentage (.419), doubles (8) and sacrifice bunts (8), third in hit by pitches (5), fourth in total bases (54), and fifth in slugging percentage (.432) and walks (18) ... Hit .412 the final 19 games of the season, going 28-for-68 with one home run, six doubles and 11 RBI after being moved to the leadoff spot ...
