Bolt,
Silos Score Program's First National Honor Forty-Niner Freshmen Named to SoccerBuzz.com's National All-Freshman
Team
December 22, 2005
NEW YORK, NY-- The 49er women's soccer program received one more present
under the tree, when Hayley Bolt (Lakewood) and Kim Silos (Ontario)
were each named to Soccerbuzz.com's National All-Freshman teams.
Bolt, the co-Big West Freshman of the Year, was named to the second
team, while Silos was an honorable mention selection. This is the first
national post-season honors for the soccer program, which tied the school
record for wins this past season, going 12-5-3.
The duo were named Regional All-Freshman picks by the website on Wednesday.
This completes a nice run for the 15th-ranked recruiting class in the
country, which started upwards of seven freshmen and had Silos and Dana
Farquhar (Redlands) earn national player of the week honors during the
season.
Fellow freshman, Liz Ramos (Bakersfield), finished the season No. 22
nationally in goals against average, at 0.66.
