Former 49er Shawna Gordon Set to Continue Professional Career in Sweden

LONG BEACH - Long Beach State women's soccer alum Shawna Gordon will continue her professional playing career in Sweden as she has signed a contract with Umea IK FF.
Gordon is scheduled to land in Umea, Sweden, today and will join the team mid-season.
Gordon spent the 2014 season with the LA Blues, which recently won the W-League Championship with a 6-1 victory over the Washington Spirit Reserves in the finals on Sunday, July 27. The Blues also finished the regular season with an unblemished 12-0-0 record.
In addition, Gordon played professionally for the Western Sydney Wanderers in the Australian W-League during the 2013-14 season, and for the Boston Breakers during the inaugural season of the National Women's Soccer League. She also previously played for the Blues (formerly the Pali Blues) in 2011.
Gordon spent four years at Long Beach State (2008-11), where she led the 49ers to three Big West titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances, including an unprecedented run to the NCAA Elite Eight in 2011. She was a two-time NSCAA All-West Region pick and a three-time first-team all-conference selection. Gordon was also tabbed the 2011 Big West Midfielder of the Year. She currently ranks among the LBSU all-time top-10 career leaders in games played (89), shots (121), goals (17), assists (24) and points (58).
