LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The Long Beach State women's soccer team kept their postseason hopes alive with a dominating 3-0 victory over UC Riverside on Sunday night at George Allen Field.

The Beach (8-6-2, 2-3-1 BWC) outshot the Highlanders (6-10-1, 3-3-0 BWC), 12-8, and tallied all three of their goals in the second half to snap a three match-losing skid. The shutout victory is the eighth of the year for LBSU. Goalkeeper Imani McDonald collected four saves in the win.

Following a scoreless first half on both sides, Long Beach State broke through on a corner kick by Chloe Froment which Sarah Maher headed in for the first goal of the night in the 62nd minute. Maher's goal was the first of the season for the junior defender, and just the second of her career.

Maher's score remained the lone goal until the 78th minute of action when freshman forward Rola Badawiya hit the back of the net on a penalty kick to give the Beach a 2-0 lead. The goal marked Badawiya's fourth of the season to make her the team's leading scorer.

However, Badawiya remained the team's lone leading scorer for less than two minutes as senior forward Tori Bolden followed suit and connected on a pass from Rocio Rodriguez to extend Long Beach State's lead to three (3-0). Bolden's goal marked her fourth of the year to tie Badawiya for the most goals on the season.

While Long Beach State's offense dominated the second half, McDonald kept the Highlanders off the scoreboard. She finished the game with her fourth shutout on the year, while earning four saves.

Maher finished the game with a team-best three shots, two of which were on goal, while Bolden also added three shots with one on goal. Badawiya, and Taylor Bistline each notched a shot on goal, while Rodriguez, Jessica Vincent, Dana Fujikuni, and Ayana Robles rounded out the remaining shots for the Beach.

Long Beach State will hit the road for its final away contest on Thursday, Oct. 26 at CSUN. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Matador Soccer Field.
