LONG BEACH, Calif. -- The No. 25 Long Beach State women's soccer team earned their third straight shutout victory as the Beach defeated Dartmouth, 1-0, to hand the Big Green their first loss of the season.

The total team effort saw Long Beach State (3-1-1) utilize 22 players in the contest against Dartmouth (2-1-0).

"I think it's a good win," Long Beach State head coach Mauricio Ingrassia stated. "We were hoping to score in the first half and missed a few opportunities. We subbed a lot more than normal to try to keep fresh legs. Everyone had a lot of balanced minutes. It was a good team win."

The lone goal of the match came in the 55th minute of action as sophomore midfield Ayana Robles came off the bench and connected on a shot from Tori Bolden that hit off the crossbar and went into the net. The goal marked Robles' first of her career as she led the Beach to their third win in as many matches.

While Robles' shot was the only to hit the back of the net, LBSU tallied 14 shots in the game with eight shots on goal. Led by sophomore Kaitlin Fregulia's four shots with three on target, the Beach offense penetrated the Big Green defense throughout the contest.

In the first half alone, Long Beach State out-shot Dartmouth 7-4, while limiting the Big Green to just one shot on goal. LBSU, on the other hand, recorded four shots on goal in the first 45 minutes.

The Beach did not let up in the second half as they posted another seven shots in the frame with four on target. Meanwhile, the defense continued to hold Dartmouth scoreless. LBSU goalkeeper Imani McDonald finished the game with three saves notching her third shutout of the year.

In addition to Fregulia's four shots, Katie Pingel added two of her own, while Jessica Vincent, Sarah Pilster, Kailee Prescott, Paige Conway, Taylor Bistline, Kayla Cannon and Rola Badawiya each contributed a shot in the match.

Long Beach State will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 3, when it travels to Berkeley, Calif., to take on No. 25/17 Cal at 4 p.m.
