Lucas Curtolo enters his fourth season at LBSU as a volunteer coach after spending three years as the top assistant at UC San Diego.
Curtolo, a standout collegiate goalkeeper at UCSD, amassed an impressive coaching resume following his playing days. He guided San Diego Surf's Under-16 club program to a national championship in 2003. His outstanding coaching was recognized with state coach of the year awards from the NSCAA and the California State Coaches Association. The Surf Club program tabbed him as the 2003 coach of the year, as his Under-16 and Under-13 squads won regional championships.
During his collegiate days, Curtolo was a four-year starter, leading the Tritons to the NCAA regional finals as a senior. He left UCSD ranked second all-time on the school's career shutout list. He graduated with a degree in communications in 2000.
