49ers Announce Two Signees
Two Southern California Products Ink With LBSU

LONG BEACH, CA-- Head Coach Sue Ewart announced that Brenda Chhuor and Erin Cylke both have signed National Letters-of-Intent with Long Beach State. Chhuor hails from Cerritos, CA and is currently a senior at Cerritos High School while Cylke is from El Cajon, CA and is currently enrolled at Christian High School.

Chhuor has been a three-time Long Beach Press-Telegram "Dream Team" pick at Cerritos High. She has multiple AJGA top 10 finishes and was the 2004 Desert Tour Player of the Year. Last year she tied for 17th at the CIF State Championships, qualifying as an individual. Other honors include: second place at the Toyota Tour Cup at Mountaingate, fourth place at the Toyota Tour Cup at Yorba Linda, ninth place at the Toyota Tour Cup Tournament of Champions and she was selected to the Mary Cave Cup Team, representing Southern California.

Cylke recently won the Scott Simpson Junior Championship and finished second at the Paul Benoit Memorial, both a part of the San Diego Junior Golf Association. She represented San Diego at the Girls Junior Americas Cup Team which competed in Guadalajara, Mexico and was selected to the Mary Cave Cup Team, representing San Diego.

"We are extremely pleased to sign these two young ladies," said Ewart. "Brenda should step in right away and give us some solid performances next fall. Erin is an outstanding golfer who will add depth to our team next year. I'm very excited that we were able to sign two outstanding golfers."
