The Long Beach State women's golf team travels to Las Vegas for their last tournament of the fall season, taking part in the three-day, 54-hole Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Opening round begins on Sunday, Oct. 21, followed by second round play on Monday, Oct. 22 and final round action on Tuesday, Oct. 23. All three rounds will take place at the par-72, 6,230-yard Stallion Mountain Golf Club in Las Vegas. First and second will have tee times scheduled at 7:30 a.m. while the final 18 holes will begin with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m. Live play will be available on Golfstat.com.

Senior Simone Hoey, junior Rochelle Chan, sophomore Chaewon Park and freshmen Shawnee Martinez and Kassidy Teare will represent LBSU, while sophomore Bow-Kay Salotti will play as an individual. The 49ers will be among a 17-team field that features Colorado State, Fresno State, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas State, Kennesaw State, Long Beach State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, New Mexico State, North Texas, Penn State, San Diego State, UNLV, Washington State and Wisconsin.

LBSU PLACES 10TH IN WASHINGTON
Long Beach State recorded a 79-over-par 943 to finish in 10th place at the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational in Sammamish, Wash. LBSU shot rounds of 310, 322 and 311 at the Sahalee Country Club. Simone Hoey led the way for the 49ers, placing 24th with a 16-over 232.
PARK TAKES FIRST TOP-20 FINISH AT ROSE CITY
Sophomore Chaewon Park recorded her first career top-20 finish, tying for 18th place at the Rose City Collegiate in Aurora, Ore. LBSU finished in sixth at 63-over 927. The Rose City Collegiate marked the first collegiate tournament for freshman Shawnee Martinez as the native from Modesto placed second for LBSU, tying for 24th at 18-over 234.
HOEY, 49ERS TIES FOR FIFTH IN COLORADO
Senior Simone Hoey recorded her first top-5 finish in the season opening Colonel Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. Hoey completed the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 2-under 218, shooting rounds of 73, 76 and 69. LBSU tied for fifth out of 17 teams with Louisville, Nevada and New Mexico. The 49ers finished the tournament at 32-over 896. Freshman Kassidy Teare made her collegiate debut for the 49ers, tied for 16th (+8).
THE GOLD RUSH RETURNS IN 2013
LBSU is set to host The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance on February 11-12, 2013 at the Yorba Linda Country Club in Yorba Linda, Calif. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature 11 teams (LBSU, Portland State, San Diego State, Gonzaga, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, Santa Clara, UC Irvine, Washington State, BYU and Nevada) from five different conferences and 11 individuals.
LBSU opens the spring season hosting The Gold Rush presented by Farmers Insurance, Feb. 11-12, 2013, at Yorba Linda Country Club in Yorba Linda.
