The Long Beach State women's golf team opens the 2012-13 campaign at the Colonel Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic hosted by Colorado State.

The two-day, 54-hole tournament begins on Monday with 36-holes beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m., followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday, with pairings determined by team score. The low individual scores will determine the team scores for each round. Both days will take place at the par-72, 6,302-yard Ptarmigan Country Club in Windsor, Colo. Senior Simone Hoey, junior Rochelle Chan, sophomore Chaewon Park, freshman Kassidy Teare and sophomore Bow-Kay Salotti will represent LBSU, competing against a 16-team field that features Baylor, Colorado, Colorado State, Fresno State, Idaho, Illinois, Louisville, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, San Jose State, Texas Tech, UNLV, UTEP and Wyoming.

LBSU finished in 13th place at last year's 19-team Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. The 49ers recorded rounds of 310, 303 and 306 to finish at 55-over 919. Hoey was the top finisher for LBSU, tying for 23rd with a 7-over 223 (76-75-72). Chan tied for 62nd at 18-over.
