LBSU, Euna Pak Tied For Second After Two Rounds At UC Irvine Invitational

SANTA ANA, Calif. - After two rounds of play at the UC Irvine Invitational, the Long Beach State women's golf team is tied for second-place at Santa Ana Country Club.

LBSU posted a two-round score of 9-over-par 585, after scoring a 292 and 293 to tie with tournament host UC Irvine.  The Beach and Anteaters trail first-place Colorado State (+3) by six shots heading into Tuesday's final round.

Senior Jennifer Yu was the top player for LBSU, tying for sixth at even-144.  Yu carded an opening round 73 to tie for 11th and returned in the second round, firing a 71, that included two birdies, one bogey and 15 pars.

Junior Haley Tygret remains just one shot behind at 1-over 145, placing ninth after carding rounds of 74 and 71.

Junior Cara Barker tied for 14th at 3-over, after shooting rounds of 71 and 76, followed by sophomore Maria Davis tied for 27th at 6-over, carding rounds of 74 and 76.

Sophomore Holland Shourds is tied for 47th at 12-over, followed by rounds of 81 and 75.

The LBSU "B" team finished in sixth at 21-over 597, after turning in rounds of 304 and 293.  LBSU trails fifth-place Idaho (+20) by one stroke and six shots behind Pepperdine (+15) in fourth.

Redshirt sophomore Euna Pak led the way for the Beach "B" team, tying for second at 4-under 140.  Pak recorded a 70 for both rounds to trail second round leader Katrina Pendergast (-8) of Colorado State by four shots.

Competing for the LBSU "B" team, redshirt senior Savannah Knox is tied for 10th at 2-over after posting a 74 and 69, followed by senior Sachi Hamada (80-76) and junior Breann Fox (78-78) tied for 47th at 12-over.

Senior Felicia Taverrite tied for 64th (79-84) at 19-over.

Final round play concludes on Tuesday, with LBSU teeing off at 8:30 a.m. (PT) from the first tee and will be paired with Colorado State and UC Irvine.  The LBSU "B" team will tee off at 7:45 a.m. (PT) from the first tee and will be paired with Pepperdine and Idaho.
