49ers finishes in 10th place at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown

LAS VEGAS - Long Beach State recorded its lowest round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown with a 298 to move up in the standings to finish in 10th place.
LBSU improved by four strokes from its second round score of 302 to climb up from 13th. The 49ers completed the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 58-over 922.
No. 41 Indiana captured the team title with a 30-over as the Hoosiers won by three shots over second-place UCF (+33) and four strokes over tournament host and No. 36 UNLV (+34) in third.
Freshman Kassidy Teare led the way for the 49ers for the second straight round, tying for 38th with a 15-over 231. Teare carded a 77 that was highlighted by two birdies and 10 pars, while collecting five bogeys and one double-bogey.
Sophomore Chaewon Park finished one shot behind at 16-over, tying for 42nd. Park recorded a career low 72 in Tuesday's final round, that featured three birdies, 12 pars and three bogeys.
Junior Rochelle Chan recorded an 81 to tie for 73rd at 23-over.
Sophomore Bow-Kay Salotti, playing as an individual, carded her lowest round of the tournament with an 81 to tie for 86th at 29-over.
Ally McDonald of Mississippi State and Elizabeth Tong of Indiana shared individual medalist honors as both players finished with a 2-under 214.
LBSU closed out the fall season at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown and will return to action, Feb. 11-12, 2013, opening the spring season hosting The Gold Rush at Yorba Linda Country Club.
