LBSU places 10th at Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational

SAMMAMISH, Wash. - The Long Beach State women's golf team recorded a 311 in Wednesday's final round of the Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational to finish in 10th place.
LBSU completed the three-day, 54-hole tournament at 79-over par 943. The 49ers improved by 11 strokes from their second round score of 322.
Tournament host and No. 6 Washington (+22) captured the team title by 14 shots over No. 7 UC Davis (+36) in second and 19 strokes over No. 40 Stanford (+41) in third.
Senior Simone Hoey carded a 77 to improve by three shots to move up in the standings to finish in 24th. Hoey collected three birdies for the round while recording six bogeys and one double-bogey to finish the tournament at 16-over 232.
Freshman Shawnee Martinez tied for 34th after shooting a final round 80 to finish at 19-over, while fellow classmate Kassidy Teare recorded her best round of the tournament with a 77 to tie for 45th at 22-over.
SooBin Kim of Washington, playing as an individual, won individual medalists with a tournament record of 11-under 205, winning by 12 shots over two players tied for second.
LBSU returns to action for their last tournament of the fall season, taking part in the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, Oct. 21-23, at the Stallion Mountain Golf Course.
